For almost five decades, H&N Investments and its associated companies and business partners have provided specialist consulting, project development, operational improvement and strategic advisory services to resource, industrial and engineering sectors throughout Australia, Asia and the Pacific region.
Our experience includes supporting major multinational organisations, resource developers and engineering groups, including projects associated with companies such as Anglo American, DuPont, Shell, BHP and other significant industry participants. Engagements have ranged from early-stage project evaluation and feasibility through to detailed design, commissioning, operational support, process optimisation and business improvement initiatives.
Notable assignments have included supporting the development, design, commissioning and operational readiness of major mineral sands projects, including the TiWest Project in Western Australia for Minproc and Kerr-McGee Corporation, together with the design, development and commissioning of monazite, rutile and ferro-titanium processing facilities for Indian Rare Earths, a division of the Indian Atomic Energy Commission.
H&N Investments and its industry partners have also contributed to the evaluation, development and commercialisation of mining and mineral processing projects across Australia and South-East Asia, including leading development activities associated with a greenfield chromite mining project in Sulawesi, Indonesia. This work encompassed project development, production trials, marketing support, process design, construction oversight and commissioning, together with the recovery and beneficiation of valuable heavy minerals including chromite, magnetite and associated mineral sands.
Historically, the business focus has centred on the development and processing of mineral sands and alluvial mineral deposits, including rutile, zircon, ilmenite, monazite, rare earth minerals, chromite, magnetite, tin, gold and diamonds. Work programs have covered the full project lifecycle, including exploration planning, drilling programs, resource evaluation, pilot plant development, mining studies, wet and dry processing operations, metallurgical test work, value-adding process development, smelting and roasting technologies, synthetic rutile production and market development support.
